My Students

My students are worried, scared, and anxious to get back to normal. They are all learning from home and trying their best. Some are still waiting for the city to provide them with technology and they are anxious that they are missing work. Others are working from home, but afraid for their parents and family members every time they go out to work or just grocery shop. Many are scared because their parents lost their jobs and they worry what happens when their "money ends."

My Project

Since the tragic death of George Floyd, my students are very interested in learning how they can make a difference in their communities. They have already come up with many great ideas. One student said she was going to participate in student council next year and would focus on equity and promoting the different cultures in school.

In order to keep this moment of students wanting to be involved in their school and community, I would like them to recieve this book.

This book is about a girl their age who is experiencing a similar reality.
