Black History Month Showcase

Help me give my students chips. In February, we celebrate Black History Month. Looking at George Crum, inventor of potato chips. I would like students to receive a bag of potato chips at the end of their visit.

My Project

On February 28, 2025, we will be hosting our Black History Month Showcase. Each class has been assigned an inventor to research, and the showcase will feature a museum-style walk-through where students can explore the contributions of these inventors.

For the event, we ask that each class provide:

• A picture of the assigned inventor

• A brief description of their invention

• A summary of what your class created as part of the project

Each class will be assigned a time slot to visit the showcase, where teachers will act as museum curators, guiding students through the exhibits and sharing details about the inventors, their inventions, and classroom recreations.

To ensure a smooth setup, please have all class projects completed by February 25, so they can be arranged in the designated space downstairs.

Additionally, two inventors will receive special recognition:

• Augustus Jackson, who developed a modern method of manufacturing ice cream

• George Crum, who invented the potato chip

To celebrate their contributions, we would love for students to receive an individual cup of ice cream and a small bag of potato chips at the end of their visit.
