My Project

Our students are curious 6th graders who are asking to learn about Black culture and the contributions of Black Americans. We plan to surround our students with the opportunity to learn about the success of Black individuals who helped to build this amazing country and their contributions in pushing the success of American forward.

If students can see themselves in African-American individuals who overcame hardship, then they will believe that all things are possible with hard work and determination even when things are difficult.

Reading about successful people will help them to believe that they can be successful as well.

Ms. Jennings Brooklyn Science & Engineering Academy Grades 6-8

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
