This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are a bilingual group that is always ready to learn. They are curious, resilient, and hardworking kids that love learning new things, sometimes in the classroom and sometimes in the virtual world.

My students are excited about school and ready to grow as bilingual citizens of the world.

They are a highly motivated group of kids, mostly from immigrant families that are passionate and curious about the world around them.

My Project

I want to bring books to my classroom that my students can identify. These books celebrate black people and women that have made enormous contributions to the world. It is very important that students see their classroom reflect who they are and celebrate their greatness. I would like to empower them to reach their highest potential as those black and women history figures did.

These books will give my students an opportunity to learn about the greatest contributions to humanity by black people and women.

I have also chosen books that will help us complete our literature unit about biographies as well as deepen our understanding of the importance of Black History.
