Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am looking forward to introducing my students to economic concepts, workplace skills, financial literacy in business and personally as it applies to the real world. Students will have an engaging, hands-on program where students will learn how to manage their finances. Students will have a debit card to simulate the process of purchasing items. They will earn dollar amounts for the classwork they participate in and learn how to balance their books on a ledger. Items will be available to purchase at The Little Store where they will keep track of what they spend, how much taxes paid for each transaction and their balances. They will also have experiences with giving dollar bills and calculating the change they are due to receive. Students will be given opportunities to become entrepreneurs of businesses where they can sell their products to each other. My project will include items they can purchase from The Little Store, price labels, cash register, poster boards and craft making supplies.
