Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The use of supplies, my classroom, especially in reading help my EL students to continue learning and creating each day. The new EL curriculum at our school has my first graders learning about birds for two semesters along with nouns, adjectives, verbs, conjuctions, etc. These ELL are having a lot thrown at them by my districts curriculum but with these added materials I can make it more engaging for them with them drawing the birds and designing the birds to keep in the classroom and on their tables. Stations are an important part of the day in our Skills block and the reading cards with the pens will keep them engaged in learning new words.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement of learning, researching, and being able to speak about birds in the English Language for their POD cast.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!t
