This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are dedicated student-athletes who proudly represent our school on the badminton court. Our high school team represents a school from an area that has a lower socioeconomic status compared to other high schools in the area.

Our badminton family continues to grow each year, and we have students of all grade levels with a variety of skill levels.

My student athletes are committed to representing our school with good sportsmanship and respect for their sport as well as maintaining their good academic standing throughout each school year.

My Project

Each year our badminton team goes through a few hundred badminton birdies during our practices and games each season. Since we share our gym with other sports at our school throughout our season, we try to maximize the use of our gym time. With limited birdies available, we sometimes have to spend more time picking up birds during drills in order to have enough ready for every player. With more birdies available, we can spend more time on our practice drills. Over time, birdies wear out and we need access to new replacements to keep our training consistent. Many of our players also need new grip for their racket handles, as they wear out frequently.
