Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mainly composed inner-city Hispanic and African American students, and although our school is designated as a Medical Magnet, most of our students face the realities of inner city life; single parents, below or at poverty income levels, gangs etc. and still these students perform and meet the rigor that we the staff at “Ortho” expect.

The experience that these students will obtain with these materials will surely empower them to seek and pursue post high school academia in research in the biomedical and/or technology field.

My Project

Greetings to all, we are requesting a class set of laboratory coats.

Remember your high school biology class?

Was it Laboratory rich? Did you have the opportunity to conduct experiment? I believe that a kinesthetic instruction that includes hands-on laboratory exposure is critical in assisting all students to include those with limited knowledge or are challenged due to language barriers.

My students are mainly composed of Hispanic and African American students, and although our school is designated as a Medical Magnet, most of our students face the realities of inner city life; single parents, below or at poverty income levels, gangs etc. and still these students perform and meet the rigor that we the staff at “Ortho” expect. The experience that these students will obtain with this technology will surely prepare them to post high school and the work force as this technology is already in use in most collegiate and professional settings.

As stated above, the materials add to the learning experience. Students will have the opportunity to not only participate in on going laboratory curriculum and it would also be empowering to feel like a research scientist wearing a lab coat. I would like to thank you in advance and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you once again for your support
