Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. I have second-language learners, native English speakers, autistic students, struggling readers, avid readers, ADD and ADHD students, and students from low-class families.

At my school, the motto is "Live, Dream, Achieve".

My students know that wherever they come from, has little bearing on where they're going as long as they work hard they can have whatever life they want.

It is up to them and the choices they make to help them succeed. We have high academic and behavior expectations and they rise to meet the challenges set before them.

My Project

I teach 126 middle schoolers in a small classroom. It's long and thin and not a very easy design in which to place furniture. These bookshelves will fit snugly against a wall, without taking up too much space. My students will be able to easily access books from our library when they are organized on the shelves of these new units.

When books are organized, it makes it easier for students to access them.

Students will be able to quickly find their favorite titles or discover new books. This will make looking for books a snap and it will help the classroom stay neat and orderly. The tall book cases will be used to store lab supplies and keep the multiple experiments in order.
