My Students

My students are trying to meet the demands of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English to pursue an education beyond high school. Part of meeting these demands means that I have to supplement technology, resources and literature to help them meet these demands with the most up to date resources. My students have the heart, the motivation, and the willingness to work hard to meet the demands. I just want them to be afforded all the resources to meet their learning style and learning needs.

My Project

I am carefully selecting culturally relevant biographies. It is an opportunity for my students to see their own potential through the eyes of others who have been where they are now. All the biographies are based on ordinary people overcoming challenges and becoming extraordinary people. These biographies will be placed in their own section of the classroom to create a space with quotes and decor to remind students of their unlimited potential. I want them to see that they already have so much in common with ordinary people who have used their talents to become extraordinary.
