My Project

As my students read The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, each student will create their own portfolio of vignettes inspired by Cisneros' writing highlighting important moments, people, and places in their own lives. In addition to these vignettes, students will include poems, reflections, and other multimedia projects.

One project included in these portfolios is the Bio Poem.

Students will write their Bio Poem including adjectives to describe themselves, some of their greatest achievements, proudest moments, and dreams for the future. The polaroid film and sticker frames will allow students to include a picture of themselves from the day the poem was written. Students will keep these portfolios and look back at them for years to come!
