Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to read books in all genres. Recently many of our library bins have torn.
I teach in a fourth grade monolingual class.
Our school is located in a high-need, low income community where for many of my students English is not their dominant language. My students love to read everyday. Our classroom library is the most important place in our classroom. They come to school with the desire to acquire new knowledge.
My Project
We are requesting 43 colorful bins to store the books in our library. We plan to categorize our books by genre and level so that it becomes easier to find when we want to read a particular book. These bins will make our classroom library very colorful and inviting which will lead to my students wanting to read more. My students will learn how to maintain our library because the bins will be labels and our books will be organized.
Your donations to our project will make a difference because it will help us create a safe , beautiful environment for all types of readers.
The colorful bins will engage and motivate my students to become more responsible and become accountable for their reading.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
