Help Mrs. Burke

I teach 24 2nd grade students this year, and will take this class to third grade next year in an effort to increase their academic success. I teach in a mid-sized neighborhood school that consists of low to middle-income students. In my efforts to increase academic success in my students for the remainder of this year and into the 2006-2007 school year, I have realized that my students need materials that will help them stay actively engaged in their learning. I would like for my students to have a variety of BINGO and other games that will help them practice the skills that we have been learning in class. These games are high-interest and very motivating. They reinforce addition, subtraction, multiplication, money, fractions and time. The resources that I want for my students are called Math BINGO Library. They consist of a set of 6 games that build a variety of math skills that we are currently working on and will continue to learn more about next year. The other games are called Roll and Learn Money Games. They help children master a variety of money operations. I feel that if my students have access to these learning games, I can make learning more fun and exciting. If my students are having fun at school each day, they will want to come back. If I can give my students a solid foundation in math skills, then they will encounter fewer problems later in school and be more likely to succeed. I really think that these games will benefit my students tremendously.
