Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is Title I and is located in a predominately Hispanic area. My students are faced with many obstacles both in and out of the classroom. Despite all the obstacles they face, their parents are very supportive and willing to help make a change.

My students love school!

They are eager to get their hands on their next learning adventure. They are willing and able to try just about anything related to their learning. They love to discuss things that they learn about and the books that they read with us during morning meeting. More importantly, my students want to be loved and to belong. My goal is to show them that they matter in a world this big and that they are destined for greatness.

My Project

A classroom binder will help us to keep our 5th grade classroom journals neatly together. Students can keep them as a keepsake for years. For math we will also create worksheets that we will work on together and add them to their “Math Journal”.

Laminating pouches are a necessary tool in any classroom.

We need laminating pouches to make sure that the items we use regularly last longer than a week. We love laminating because it means our hall passes, class job charts, and weather calendars have a chance of surviving the first 100 days of school. Laminating these items also means that we can wipe them down with antibacterial wipes regularly.
