I hope this message finds you well.
My name is Cami Kalman and I am an educator our high school. I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, which plays a crucial role in helping our students achieve their academic goals and prepare for a successful future.
AVID is a program designed to promote college and career readiness among students, particularly those who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Our AVID students are motivated, hardworking, and eager to excel, but they need your help to access the essential tools that will enhance their learning experience.
We are currently seeking support for basic but critical supplies – binders and whiteboards. These supplies are fundamental to the success of our AVID students, as they facilitate organization, collaboration, and active engagement in the learning process.
Why Binders? Binders are essential for AVID students to keep their notes, assignments, and other materials organized. The ability to maintain an organized binder is a crucial skill that AVID teaches, and having the proper supplies is essential for students to develop and practice this skill effectively.
Why White Boards? Whiteboards provide a dynamic and interactive learning environment. They allow students to work through problems, collaborate with their peers, and visualize concepts. In AVID, whiteboards are not just tools; they are instruments that foster critical thinking, communication, and collaboration – skills that are vital for success in higher education and beyond.
