Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help us continue to build a diverse English-Spanish library for our emergent bilingual students. MS 50's bilingual special education (BSE) program supports high-need English language learners through culturally and linguistically responsive instruction that addresses cognitive, academic, and linguistic needs.

Our goal is to help our students fall in love with reading by offering a diverse selection of books to choose from.

These materials (especially the graphic novels and encyclopedias) are important entry points for our students who have large interruptions to their formal education given their recent arrival in the United States.

The bookshelf will ensure we have a nice place to put all of our new reads and the headphones will help our students who need to listen as they read (or for audiobook formats).
