Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach resilient, loving and hardworking English Language Learners in a Title I funded, low-income community in the Bronx, New York. I would like my students to have a variety of resources that will support them to learn how to read. It is so hard to find good quality books in Spanish.

My goal is that my students will expand their vocabulary in English and Spanish.

Students will be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase the love for reading is by exposing them to a variety of resources such as games that are related to what they are learning. These books will help my students to be strong readers. My students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level and work on different skills.
