Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is a Title I school where we have a 72 percent economically disadvantaged rate with 37 percent of our students being English Language Learners. The majority of our students are from high poverty homes. Our students face many challenges at home, as well as at school. I can't help them with their environment at home, but I can do everything in my power to help with their environment in my classroom.
My Project
Our Elementary is a bilingual campus. In an effort to help build a better reading life for the Spanish speaking students on our campus, we need libraries that also include books in Spanish!
I find this as a great opportunity to gather books in Spanish for our readers to enjoy, in the language they understand!
I hope to bring in extra resources to help enrich ALL our students and truly live by the "ALL means ALL" motto we have adapted here in Conroe ISD. It goes beyond my classroom being successful, but our SCHOOL being successful as well.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
