This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books that I am requesting will be for my students to check out. I am asking for a variety of graphic novels in either in Spanish or English that I know will enrich my students love for reading in either language. This project will encourage our ENL, TBE, and SIFE TBE students to enjoy reading and to promote seeking books in the ELA classroom with the addition to library books. Please support our ELs who are in ENL, TBE, and SIFE TBE have a chance to engage in English and Spanish graphic novel grade level text during ELA/ENL periods daily with adding more enriched books for them to involved in.

Providing our newcomers ELs home language literature through these graphic novels will support home literacy in their grade level.

Our school is for Newcomers ELs who newly arrived in the United States. Although we are small, we would like to have our classroom library available for all learners. We would like to increase our Spanish books for our students to encourage them to read grade level text in their native language. Some of the books in this project were specifically requested by our students.
