Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students are emergent bilingual and multilingual learners from all over the world. When they arrive, they have limited English, and sometimes have interrupted formal learning due to crisis.

Our students are eager to learn English and be successful in school but need additional supports to access content in high school classes.

Dictionaries help students access high-school level content and learn academic English vocabulary in a way that is meaningful and engaging. Having the dictionaries available in each classroom allows easy access and encourages students to be independent learners.

At this school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and more than 50% come from low-income households. Learn how your donation to this school supports a more equitable education.
