My Students

Manipulation is the basis of the learning process in Kindergarten class. Children need to observe, experiment, and pretend on a daily basis.

I teach a French/English bilingual Kindergarten class in Manhattan.

Half my students come from Francophone families from countries all over the world (Europe, North and West Africa, Caribbean...). The other half of the class is composed of Anglophone students who are eager to learn French. The class is taught alternatively in English and French; all children will be fully bilingual by the end of elementary school.

My Project

Every day, my students will have centers: they will play with puppets, cars, kitchen, and dolls. These materials will not only help develop their creativity, but it will be an essential component of their language development, both in English and in French. They will play with another, cooperate, and extend their vocabulary thanks to these centers.

Without your help, my class won't be able to have centers on a daily basis, and centers won't be varied enough that they can catch the interest of each student of the class.

Having a variety of centers will ensure that each child participates in them.
