My Project

I am new to a school with a high population of refugees and other Spanish speaking students. There are very few adults in the building that can communicate effectively with these children. Relying on Google Translate, these students have been able to express their frustration with the language barrier to learning. This in turn has left a lot of them with big feelings they need to be able to navigate and express. It is very important to me that these students have access and information to their mental health well being. By having multiple bilingual resources in my office, I will be able to start learning how to speak the language and can also give these kids some education on how to cope with big emotions.
