My Project
My students are bright, hardworking, and eager to learn. They are fluent in Spanish and working toward mastering English, bringing a rich cultural and linguistic background to our classroom. Their determination to succeed inspires me every day, but they need access to high-quality books in Spanish to support their literacy growth. A well-stocked classroom library will help them strengthen their reading skills and build confidence as they transition into English.
Developing literacy in their native language strengthens their ability to learn a new one.
Research shows that reading skills transfer across languages, helping students develop comprehension strategies that support both Spanish and English literacy. By providing engaging fiction chapter books and the TIME FOR KIDS Informational Texts, I can offer a diverse collection of texts that spark curiosity and promote language growth.
With your support, my students will have a welcoming space where they feel valued and empowered. These books will open doors to knowledge, language development, and a lifelong love for reading.
