This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school is deeply committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students, and we are currently seeking funding for an essential project that directly impacts the educational experience of fifth-grade students.

We are requesting funding to acquire high-quality, durable rugs for use during Morning Meeting sessions in fifth-grade classrooms.

Morning Meeting is a crucial component of our educational approach, providing students with an opportunity to engage in discussions, share ideas, and build a sense of community within the classroom.

This year, as we are implementing Morning Meeting community time in each classroom, we noticed our older students communing around rugs made for younger students. The current rugs in our classrooms are small and no longer meet the spatial needs of our growing 5th-grade students. Investing in new, vibrant, and age-appropriate rugs will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the classrooms but also contribute to the overall well-being and comfort of the students during these interactive sessions.
