My 5th graders are at an age where they’re beginning to notice and question the world around them. They see issues like racism, bullying, mental health, and inequality in their communities and even in their own lives. They are curious, thoughtful, and full of questions, but finding age-appropriate ways to explore these important topics can be challenging. The "A Kids Book About" series tackles these tough conversations with honesty, empathy, and accessibility, giving kids the tools they need to better understand the complex issues they face.
These books will help foster meaningful dialogue, encourage empathy, and empower my students to think critically about how they can make a positive impact in their world.
By bringing this series into our classroom, I aim to create a safe and supportive space where my students can openly discuss these critical topics.
