Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing little kids with big feelings. Many of them have special needs and some are nonverbal. These kids feel everything strongly, but some struggle to express themselves.

My goal is to make our classroom a safe place where all feelings are okay, no matter how they're expressed.

I want every child, verbal or not, to understand their own feelings and their friends' feelings too. These tools will help us talk about emotions everyday in ways that work for everyone.

The big kit we're asking for will really help all of us, especially our nonverbal friends. It has lots of tools to help students learn about emotions without always needing words. The color paddles and light table will be great for kids who communicate differently. They can show their feelings using colors and light instead of talking.

With these things, we can help all our students grow up to be kind and understanding. They'll be better at handling big feelings and being good friends, even when words are hard to find.
