Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are hard-working, curious, friendly, and they love to play! We have five different home languages in our class, but our students communicate with each other and make friends quickly!

In TK, we strive to provide developmentally appropriate education that supports the whole child.

The work of childhood is play, and that is especially true at this age.

My students have lots of chances to work on their fine motor skills in the classroom, but relatively few chances to work on their gross motor skills. I want to change that by providing them the chance to jump and move around ALL DAY. That's why I'm creating a gross motor area in my TK classroom that is designated for movement at all times! Now we just need the materials that will allow students to use their different sets of muscles while they increase their coordination and balance! I plan on circulating the trampoline, rocking boat, and river stones so that the students don't get bored and each student has the opportunity to jump, balance, collaborate, exert energy, and practice mind/body connection!
