Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative and full of enthusiasm for learning! My kindergarteners are very engaged and come to school excited to learn new things. However, sometimes my students have big feelings and need support calming those feelings. Yourigami crafts soft furniture for kids, offering relaxing hang spots or creative-based experiences with open-ended possibilities. It’s the safe space they need to expand their minds, think outside of the box, self-regulate, or take a break.

Students can go to the calming area and learn about their feelings or release stress by reading a book.

The area will be soothing and relaxing. Students can read books like the calming spot books and use plush toys, and create art and stress relief toys while using the calming area. All the materials requested will be put to use immediately. A calming corner can be a great intervention to support emotions and my students' social-emotional development.
