Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I’ll be entering my 6th year of teaching and have the pleasure of teaching 5th grade this year. I am lucky to be joining an amazing community, group of teachers, and caring administrators! This particular school year I will be teaching at a title one school which means that there is a high percentages of students from low-income households that attend my school.

With that, I am asking for several items that will definitely be of much assistance for my classroom.

By having a classroom carpet my students will be able to join me during whole group instruction. In regards to the chairs, it will be used for flexible seating. One thing I have noticed so far is how much my students love to read and I want to give them the option to sit using these fun stools and bean bags. I am also asking for a pencil sharpener because my students really need a good one to be able to keep up with all the writing that happens in the classroom. Lastly I am asking for a letter trays to help keep organization within the classroom, students need a place to get and turn in their worksheets and essentially stay on task. It would be greatly appreciated for both me but most importantly my students. Thank you!
