My Students

I teach preschool students with a variety of communication, sensory and academic needs in an urban school. My students attend a half day program for support with academics, communication, sensory and social emotional learning. They work in small groups, large group or individually with an adult to gain skills.

My students are energetic, curious and knowledge seeking.

Our school is a part of a large public school system where a large percentage of our students receive free or reduced price lunch due to the economic needs of our families. My students have needs beyond basic academics. They seek support regulating sensory input, developmental skills, academic abilities, emotional stability, and social skills. My students are just beginning their academic careers in a positive preschool environment.

My Project

Our small bodies love to build with a variety of blocks. We explore making our imaginations come to life when building with our friends. We already enjoy building on small scales but these large magnetic blocks can take our visions to another level of enjoyment.

Our brain is challenged when we are building structures to solve problems, create visions and be a team player with our peers.

Using large blocks allows us to have even bigger visions and require us to have a peer participate with us to be successful in creating our structure.
