Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school I work at is located in a highly underprivileged area just outside of Downtown Los Angeles. The school does not have a library, and students don't have access to books outside of what the teachers can provide in class.

I'd like to begin a book collection in the resource room for student's who cannot access grade-level material due to being unable to read anywhere near grade-level.

The books are diverse in genre and topics so that students have a choice when it comes to selecting a book to read.

Students who are in high school and struggling to read at grade level should have access to books on topics they are interested in that are not at their frustration level.
