Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Ms. C's All star kindergarteners. This is my second year of teaching kinder in a very diverse part of California.

Our school doesn't offer art as a class. So, any art projects we want to do we have to come up with the materials and fund ourselves. A lot of my students don't get to use paint, scissors, or glitter at home, so any projects we can do at school light up their lives. They have so much fun doing them too.

I have asked for a big book holder. Last year I had to hold the big books we would read and it was really hard for us to go back and find letters and words they recognized. So with the help of the stand we can do more activities with the big books. I also asked for art supplies because the kinders love to get their hands dirty and make many different kinds of projects. It is hard to do the projects without help because each week I would have to go out and get more items. If we had all of them in the classroom it would be a lot easier to do them.

With the help of people like you, I can bring a world of difference to my students. So of my students haven't ever held a paintbrush, or even used scissors. If you can help me get these items you will be bringing a smile to each one of my students faces. Thanks you so much for all you do.
