My Project
One hundred percent of the students at our school are from low-income families and qualify to receive free lunch. I try to make our French lessons varied and engaging to reach all of my students and to teach them the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in French, as well as francophone culture.
Last year was more challenging for many reasons, but now that we're back to normal from remote learning, students need as many hands-on opportunities as possible to help them learn.
The problem is the lack of funding to help with these cultural supplies. From crêpe makers to tablecloths, we need all the help we can get. Many of the supplies that I'm requesting, I have been providing myself so the kids don't have to go without. I would love to be able to stock our home ec room so the kids can use these items for years to come.
