This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine a classroom where kids can read any book they want without having to pay for it! My project is designed to get students to fall in love with reading. It is tough to teach Reading when children have not been exposed to books throughout their lives. It is never too late to start!

I teach students to annotate a book early in the year, because it is a wonderful skill for reading comprehension.

I would love to have an iPad because it will be easy for me to walk around the room as I am teaching from the iPad. Projecting the book we are reading from the iPad is much easier than having to stand by the Promethean. There are so many uses for the iPad in the classroom, from projecting a lesson, to note taking as the kids are reading, walking around the classroom as opposed to standing in one place.

The other part of my project is giving kids a digital library in the classroom. My students come from a background where parents cannot afford to buy books. I would like to give my students the opportunity to have access to any book they desire to read! Having kindles in my classroom would give my students access to read any book they would like!
