My Project

My name is Sydney Rosenblum, and I am the AdviseMI AmeriCorps college adviser serving at BHS in Michigan. My goal in serving at BHS is to increase the overall college-going culture at the school and, more specifically, increase the number of students who enroll in post-secondary education after they graduate high school. Throughout the year, I have been working with the 440+ students in the class of 2023 to help them identify colleges and majors that fit their educational and career goals, apply to colleges and scholarships, and file the FAFSA to secure financial aid. While I work with the entire senior class, I am particularly invested in assisting students who are first-generation college-going students, students of color, and students from low-income backgrounds.

Funding this project will reward students who have worked extremely hard to reach their post-secondary goals.

We will be celebrating Decision Day 2023 with a party to honor students who have committed to their future through further education. These donated prizes will be raffled off to more-than-deserving BHS seniors!
