My Project

“In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can imagine.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson. While teaching at a Title 1 school, my students are expressing themselves in art through the heart. My students have found that when words cannot suffice, art has been the main tool to express themselves. This year, I plan to have my students excel at anything art gives to them. Including an immersive art room for our art show! In this immersive experience, students will create and contribute an art piece to the exhibition, and experience their classmate's work too. Last year, my students contributed to our immersive room "Under the Sea." This year, I plan to give my students this immersive experience again, along with a different theme. Once my students saw their pieces in the room from last year, their eyes brightened and it truly inspired them to create art coming back to the new school year. The funding for this project will help us provide the materials we need for not only our students' success, but to create a core memory from our school.
