My Students

My students are curious and lively. My fourth-grade classroom is a place of discovery. I am constantly seeking ways to engage and challenge my group of gifted learners. My goal is to prepare my students to think critically and solve problems. Many of the students in our school receive free lunch due to their socioeconomic status. This lack of resources can limit the experiences students have. I hope to provide engaging materials to broaden their outlook on life and their future. Science is everywhere in the world around us, and I hope to provide opportunities to incorporate STEM into our classroom in order to prepare my students for their future careers.

My Project

While we have the basics such as textbooks and computers, these are the supplies that add sparkle to our day. Too many of the same type of daily worksheets is monotonous for students and their learning starts to blend together. My students need to break up their computer learning activities with left brain proof drawing activities.

These basics will push the learning for my students beyond the mundane into memorable.

Supplies like black dry erase spots will let us add creativity to our day. It's amazing how much better it is to solve math problems when you get to solve them on fancy paper! Students don't want to show all their work, until they get to do it on a colored post-it note. These basic supplies will make our projects different and engaging!
