Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 46 amazing students who inspire me each day to become a better teacher. These same children are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. They are from a low-income/high poverty school district.

When they enter the classroom, they become dreamers, scholars, explorers and problem solvers.

They leave the harsh reality of their life at the door. These children are our future, and despite the many challenges they face, they enter the classroom full of smiles, dreams, and a strong desire to learn. We start our morning every day with singing and dancing to the song "Makin' It." If you entered our classroom at this time, you would see each of them singing their hearts out.

Although their challenges have prevented them from getting ahead early in life and may not have provided them with the life experiences many of us take for granted, you would never know it. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire them to continue following their dreams and their journey as life

My Project

Technology is woven into just about every aspect of our lives. In classrooms, it is changing the way children learn, educators teach, and how teachers and students communicate with one another.

Having technology like iPads in our classroom will provide opportunities for my students to work and excel at their own level and pace.

An iPad is a multipurpose learning tool that can appeal to all types of learners.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to teaching children. Every student learns differently. My goal as a teacher is to teach ALL students. An iPad will present content in a variety of ways using a variety of modalities and engage my students to become more involved, build their confidence, reduce their frustration, and become more excited about learning!
