This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is working on identifying their emotions and how to self-regulate. I would like to plan SEL lessons for my students and use these books as supplementary tools for my students. The students in my class enjoy read alouds and answering questions from the texts. I would like to have restorative circles for my students to speak with other peers and express themselves. Additionally, I would like to use the phones for the students to hear themselves say words of affirmation that may help them when they’re blue. My hope is the students grow resilient, confident, and be part of a supportive community beyond the classroom.
