My Students

I have been a special ed teacher in a diverse and urban school for over 3 years now. I have my undergraduate degree in Language and Literacy, my master's degree in special education, and am presently working on my Ph.D. in general psychology with a focus on cognition and instruction. I am absolutely dedicated and passionate about what I do. I could not imagine doing anything else.

Year after year I have the pleasure of educating small minds that ranges from severely below grade to above grade level.

I have always had an inclusive classroom with students who have learning differences or are intellectually disabled. Every year I have at least one student with autism, and many others with a learning disability. Interestingly, despite my master's degree in special education, I struggle to find digital resources that cater to all my students and I feel like this is a huge dent in my professional development that needs to be filled.

My students are all from diverse low-income families, with the majority of them living in the shelter system. They deserve the best of both worlds.

My Project

My students are active third graders who learn primarily by visual presentation. Using a second screen to present lessons from all angles will help my exuberant students achieve success despite the world we now live in and face. My students are all learning from home, which means they miss the opportunity to see their teacher present math topics, and social studies lessons live. Using this monitor as a second screen will help them view real-world problems and master all subject areas. The superb kids should not be missing out on the best education they can get because they are home. They should still see their teachers demonstrate lessons from all possible corners. This monitor will help them do so.
