My Students

"Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom." George Washington Carver. This is what our school stresses to our students.

The students I have are amazing individuals who seek to be challenged.

Even though our school is in a high poverty area, the students I have do not let that stop them from getting 'the job done' in terms of their schoolwork. They seek challenges and see themselves attending college and/or another post-secondary institute of higher learning.

My Project

For my students, being able to experience this would be a dream come true for many. They do not often go to the movies so to be able to experience seeing a film that THEY want to see would be a unique opportunity.

Many of my students have trouble visualizing literature.

Seeing the film would give them a visual representation but also allow them the chance to analyze and critique film from the lens of someone who has read the book. it would be nice to take them to an event where they don't realize they are learning life skills.
