My Students

Fuquay-Varina Middle school students are the best! I have the pleasure of teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in both the classroom and in gym. In my class we strive to raise the bar through creative and rigorous assignments. My students grit and determination are the characteristics that stand out to me the most. I challenge my students daily to "be the best version of themselves" and each day they give me 100%. I can honestly say they make me want to be a better person and I hope they feel the same way about me.

My Project

At this time our school does not have a fitness/weight room. The weights and barbell will provide the foundation for our fitness room. The fitness room will be used by Healthful Living teachers to teach 6th, 7th and 8th graders the fundamentals of weight training. My vision is to create a fitness room with various equipment and weights to host all levels of fitness.

The project will provide a safe environment for our students and staff to learn about the life long benefits of fitness.

The project will enable students to find out the physical, emotional, and mental benefits of fitness.
