Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students from my school live in one of the poorest districts in the country, the Bronx, NY. Many of our students view coming to this public school as a way to escape their day to day struggles. We try our best to provide students with access to diverse, fun learning programs, but with major budget cuts, we can not afford certain supplies to keep us going. It has become increasingly difficult to offer character building education services to our large population of students.

My Project

Build up young teens self-esteem and you change the future. In my 12 years in education, I see how powerful it is to empower our teenagers to believe in themselves. Self awareness is a powerful skill to teach. We work on getting students career and college ready but first we guide them to believe in their self-worth.

The Selfie generation is here and what better way to create a positive environment.

I want to build walls up around the classrooms and offices to enforce this motto " believe in your selfie. Students will use requested film and sticker frames to take pictures of themselves and add-on by writing in favorite qualities.
