Help Mrs. Crawford

I teach third grade (all subjects) in a low-income rural school. Classroom behavior is a major concern in most classrooms. I plan to address this problem in a positive way. Students may earn behavior bucks for good behavior that they may spend in our class store on supplies they need to help them learn. Behavior Bucks is a new incentive program to promote student learning through positive behavior incentives. Students will learn how to identify coins and bills, count money, and make change. They will be rewarded for good behavior. When students complete their homework, follow directions, help others, and such, they will earn classroom money. They will keep their classroom money, or Behavior Bucks, in their coin banks until Friday when the store opens. Students who misbehave or don't complete their work will lose behavior bucks. Students may spend their behavior bucks in the class store. The class store is stocked with supplies the students generally need like pencils and erasers. I will need a cash register, a class set of money, a storage cart to hold and secure the store items, and items to sell in the store like pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, stampers, and bookmarks. You can help reward students with classroom supplies they need and give everyone the gift of knowledge. The more motivated students are to listen and learn, the more they will listen and learn.
