My Students

My students have a passion for growing friendships and learning all they can! We are a Title I school where the majority of our students participate in free or reduced-rate lunch. We love learning alongside one another!

The students who enter my classroom are already behind their more affluent peers in reading.

We are committed to growing our brains! My kids love exploring and stretching their schema to learn more about the world around them. The students and parents are enthusiastic about learning but do not have the tools (books, writing utensils, etc.) to work on reading and writing outside of school. With a longer school day, longer school year, and strategic planning, my students will make significant gains to leave first grade reading on grade level. I can't wait to see what they will do as they move along their educational journeys!

My Project

In order to best support learning in our classroom it needs to be comfortable, organized, and feel like home for both the teachers and the students. The area rug and seat covers for our scoop chairs will help the classroom feel comfortable and homey for my students. The wire cubes will be used to help us organize the many materials we use throughout the day. The rolling chairs will help both myself and my associate teacher have a comfortable seat to teach from.

Coming off a year where all students learned virtually, it is very important the classroom feels like a home away from home.

I want to ensure my students and both teachers are set up for success from day one. Your support would help us do that!
