Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Interactivity is needed when time is sensitive! My students are interested in learning new concepts, but you have to meet them at their level and introduce these concepts in a fun and engaging way.

My students come from a neighborhood in which poverty is high.

Some of our students live in a shelter, foster care and housing projects. Approximately, one fourth (25%) of our student population is identified as special needs students and require extra support and differentiated instruction. Our schools seeks to provide support to the students and their families in many different ways.

My Project

This year, I have been tasked to provide special education services to a group of students who require constant repetition to gain and retain concepts taught. The materials requested are going to help support my vision and bring the new knowledge to live. The dry erase board and markers will provide the visual and interactivity needed. The Writing process folders and privacy folders will allow for the students to organize and focus on the tasks at hand. This will also be used in combination with the timer to keep students on track. The sight words bingo will help to enhance our students vocabulary. The book baggies are being requested to help the children maintain their work and assist with organization. We are striving for interactivity, focus and organization.
