This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi! I am a first-year pre-K teacher. I am currently trying to build the ideal classroom for young learners. As a new teacher I still lack many resources and supplies, therefore I have been working on a writing center project to create an ideal writing area that students will be motivated to work in. Right now, I only have the table, paper, and pencils in my writing center and my students do not really enjoy using the area. My students still need a lot more practice with writing letters, number, and their names. I am sure that if I create the ideal writing center for them that is fun, engaging, and most importantly effective, I will definitely see them develop the writing skills they need before entering kindergarten. The students will benefit from the fun-colored pencil grips, they will be able to practice letters and numbers on the magic boards, and with an organized area, the area will be more appealing to work in.
