Mini magazines are one of the most amazing classroom materials a teacher could wish for. Presented in a fresh format with engaging pictures and graphics, magazines cover a wide range of current topics that capture the interest of young readers.
Yet, best of all, mini magazines reinforce multiple reading skills simultaneously.
Students can read as a class, partner with other classmates, complete a graphic organizer, or work independently to answer questions. Additionally, mini magazines “chunk” content into logical segments that leads to higher retention. Unlike the classic basal textbook, magazines provide students with self-contained learning segments that are less threatening and easier for students to absorb and learn.
