My Project

As a Special Education teacher in a self-contained classroom, I work with students who have autism and behavioral challenges. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where each student feels supported, valued, and understood. Every child in my classroom has unique needs, and I strive daily to provide personalized learning experiences that help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

To support their development, I am requesting several classroom tools and resources.

Items such as LCD writing tablets will assist students with handwriting in a less stressful, mess-free way compared to whiteboards. Social emotional learning books will help them process emotions, while a hammock swing and throw pillows will offer sensory support and alternative seating options. Adaptive pencils and dry erase markers are vital for students with fine motor struggles. Crayons will be available for students unable to bring their own supplies. Additionally, laminating sheets will allow me to create durable, reusable learning materials, and a pencil sharpener and sturdy crayon boxes will help keep supplies organized. A reusable spiral notebook will support me in documenting learning efficiently and digitally.

With these tools, I aim to foster academic growth through individualized instruction tailored to each child’s strengths and needs. I want my students to feel respected, encouraged, and empowered to succeed both in and outside the classroom. I am truly passionate about helping them build life skills for long-term success, and these resources will go a long way in creating a supportive and productive learning space for them.
