Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember learning about all the great Americans in history class? Well, civics is now being taught as part of language arts. Students will be learning valuable lessons on how to become a proud citizen of America in their language arts class!

I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade language arts.

My students have various learning disabilities that often times makes learning difficult. They are eager learners and are very curious about the world around them. My students learn best through group work and activities.

My Project

These resources will simplify teaching civics and language arts. The Read About Explorers Comprehension Cards will allow students to discover early American explorers. Students will read each card and answer comprehension questions about their explorer. Through the social studies games, students will venture into different aspects of American history. Students will learn how to use maps, learn who the Native Americans were and what explorers found.
